The National University of Singapore (Chongqing) Research Institute's industrial center BLOCK71 Chongqing officially opened on Jan 22 in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.

The center aims to promote mutual communication between China and Singapore's science and technology industries to commercialize their scientific and technological achievements.

Teams of start-up technological projects with core technologies and workable commercial business models can apply to join the center to receive international technology commercialization support, intellectual property support, sustainable entrepreneurship guidance and business incubation services.

The international technology commercialization service will focus on advanced manufacturing and materials, intelligent sensors and artificial intelligence, modern logistics and finance risk management to establish an enterprise-university-research institute cooperation mode.

The center will promote the operation model of international intellectual properties for surrounding universities, research institutes and high-tech enterprises and provide comprehensive operation services. It will also allow the companies, incubation centers and scientific research platforms to cooperate with each other.

Relying on BLOCK71, an initiative by the National University of Singapore focused on collaborative and strategic partnerships, the center will introduce Singapore's global science and technology R&D enterprises to create a sustainable environment for starting up businesses.

The National University of Singapore (Chongqing) Research Institute was co-established by Liangjiang New Area and the National University of Singapore in April 2020, aiming to become an international innovative research institute.
