Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality held an online signing ceremony on Feb 25 and signed 30 major projects with a total investment of 14.69 billion yuan ($2.27 billion).
The projects cover intelligent manufacturing, electronic information, health, the headquarters economy and supply chain logistics. They will see the development of R&D innovation centers, blockchain technology and the high-end service trade in Liangjiang.
Thinking positively of Liangjiang's industrial foundation, location advantages, market influence and business environment, various companies have chosen Liangjiang as their headquarters.
China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp, a subsidiary corporation of the Fortune Global 500 company China State Construction Engineering Corp, plans to invest 1 billion yuan in establishing its regional headquarters in Liangjiang.
The corporation will focus on high-quality construction, investment and development in Liangjiang.
Another signed company Sinosoft Co is a leading domestic information technology solutions provider for the insurance industry. It plans to invest 160 million yuan in establishing its technology center and operation base in Liangjiang, which will be its fourth regional base in addition to Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
Relying on Sinosoft's brands, technologies, market channels and services, the company will expand its business into the areas of finance, medical treatment and smart city construction. It will also provide services for Chongqing's neighboring areas and even ASEAN countries.
The signed projects will meet Liangjiang's needs for industrial upgrading and the modernization of the industrial chain and supply chain, thus laying a solid foundation for Liangjiang's high-quality development in the future.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
