During the national two sessions, which are underway in Beijing, Chongqing's delegation to the National People's Congress (NPC) had advanced six proposals and 213 pieces of advice by noon on March 9.
All the proposals involve making and revising laws. Meanwhile, the advice focuses on education technology, talent cultivation, social governance, reform and development, rural revitalization, infrastructure, culture and tourism, environmental protection, democracy and the rule of law, medical treatment and social security.
According to the delegation leader, the NPC deputies' proposals and advice are based on in-depth research and accurately reflect people's demands and hopes for high-quality development in the future.
So far, none of the proposals or pieces of advice have been rejected or require modification.
In the future, the Standing Committee of Chongqing Municipal People's Congress will follow up and communicate with the government departments involved to make sure the proposals and pieces of advice will be handled appropriately.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
