Through a special live-streaming program shown on March 28, more people get to know the new landmarks in the Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's municipality of Chongqing – Lijia Yuelai Smart Park and Guoyuan port.

Lijia Yuelai Smart Park was established to help celebrate Chongqing's emergence as a smart city. It is a multi-functional park that integrates smart devices with such facilities as restaurants, accommodation, traveling, transport, entertainment and shopping.

Plans are for the park to expand its services by building smart communities, intelligent business streets and business clusters for so-called unicorn companies – privately-owned startups with valuations of more than $1 billion.

The Chongqing municipal government is reportedly committed to "making the Smart China Expo never ends" by demonstrating the innovative results that can come from big data in the park.

Guoyuan port has reportedly become the "world's transfer station" after five years of development. Through this facility, ships can sail the Yangtze River and reach the Pacific Ocean to the east.

Goods heading for the west can be loaded onto China-Europe freight trains, which can reach Central Asia and Europe. The port is also connected with ASEAN member nations and South Asia through China's New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

The port is reportedly helping Chongqing to go global and will have a more important role to play in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, China's western development plan, as well as the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
