Chongqing General Hospital (CGH) in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality signed a strategic collaboration agreement with the Liangjiang branch of the High School Affiliated to Southwest University on June 1.
The two sides pledged to launch in-depth collaboration in talent training, teaching and technology with an eye on achieving mutual benefit.
According to the contract, the hospital will designate medical specialists to stage a series of lectures to popularize knowledge about emergency aid skills, healthy and nutritious diets and prevention and treatment of occupational diseases.
Meanwhile, the hospital will become a long-term partner of the school, offering guidance to the school's clinics.
Yang Jincai, an official from the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, attended and addressed the signing ceremony, saying the cooperation will be a bonus to children at the school. He hoped the joint efforts from the two sides will bring top medical and educational resources to Liangjiang, and will serve to raise regional competency and elevate people's sense of wellbeing.
Huang Ying, Party secretary of CGH, said the joint work will fulfill the function of the tertiary class-A hospital when it provides the school with comprehensive and full-cycle health services. All medical staff members will spare no efforts to facilitate a wholistic approach that involves a mixture of education and care from schools, families and communities.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
