The launch ceremony for Siluhua Street in Liangjiang New Area's Chongqing Lianglu-Cuntan Free Trade Port Area opened on June 30. Duan Chenggang, secretary of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Party Work Committee, attended the event.
Having a total length of 1.5 kilometers and possessing 8.8 hectares of landscaped area, Siluhua Street (which means "Silk Road Flower Street" in Chinese) is a themed opening-up platform for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It features a BRI business center, BRI commodity exhibition and trading center, BRI international exchange center and Chongqing free trade exposition center.
Duan paid a research visit to the street and was introduced to its landscape layout and the design of its light show. He urged the construction of Cuntan International New City as a significant part of building Chongqing into an international consumption hub and a world-class tourism destination.
He added that government officials should become more aware of their role in working together with corporations, making innovations in business models and elevating the street's attractiveness.
The street will give full play to the combined advantages of the bonded area and its characteristic local industry. Customers will be provided with more international, friendly, intelligent and scene-oriented services with an immersive experience.
