The expansion of Lijia Experimental Primary School has been completed, and the newly established sections will begin operating soon, according to the education bureau of Liangjiang New Area.
The school's extended area covers 40,000 square meters and includes standard classrooms, multipurpose classrooms, indoor stadiums, auditoriums, and garages. With a total capacity of 40 classes, the new campus area is expected to add 14 new classes to the school this year.
The school is equipped with high-quality indoor and outdoor sports centers, libraries, theaters, and classrooms. The phase I project has been operating since 2020.
Jiang Junbin, president of the school, said the school is child-oriented and is working to cultivate children that are patriotic, intelligent, kind, and cosmopolitan.
Lijia Experimental Primary School is one of Chongqing's smart demonstration schools. Its pupils begin attending programming classes in Grade 1, and the programming techniques are integrated with other subjects they have learned. Taking full advantage of Lijia Smart Park’s abundant resources, the school is currently making efforts to establish the first national adolescent AI study institute.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
