The China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization forum on the digital economy and the Smart China Expo 2021 were unveiled on Aug 23 in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
In the first day of the expo, Liangjiang New Area signed project agreements with IAT Automobile Technology Co, Tencent Tech Co, iFLYTEK Corporation, and QI-ANXIN Technology Group Inc, relating to automobile innovation and research, industrial internet, AI, and network infrastructure.
The automobile R&D base project invested by IAT Automobile Technology Co involved 1 billion yuan ($15 million) in investment. The base to be built in Liangjiang will be the company's first international auto research center in southwestern China to include whole car designs and new energy vehicle research. IAT is currently cooperating with 60 giant auto manufacturers, including Benz, Volkswagen, Toyota, Honda, Changan, Geely, and NIO Inc. It possesses more than 200 auto developing cases and databases that cover the entire manufacturing process of automobiles.
The Tencent Cloud industrial internet intelligent industry headquarters to be established in Liangjiang will form its team by recruiting competent internet architects, research engineers, and personnel involved in product and business promotion, release business standards or the white paper related to smart product innovation of industrial internet, and establish the WeMake Industrial Internet Research Center and industrial intelligent innovation laboratories.
In addition, Dassault Systemes Co, a Liangjiang-based company, signed collaboration agreements with Chongqing University and Shanghai Greenment Environmental Technology Co. The three sides promised to work on the integrated development of industries, universities, and research institutes.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
