The Liangjiang-Wanzhou Corporate Research Center, Liangjiang (Wanzhou) Advanced Manufacturing Supporting Industrial Park, and Wanzhou (Liangjiang New Area) Green Manufacturing Center were unveiled and began operating on Sept 19.
The three bases will promote in-depth collaboration between Liangjiang and Wanzhou in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality in research and innovation, high-end manufacturing, and eco-friendly technologies.
The Liangjiang-Wanzhou Corporate Research Center is reportedly located in the new area's Longxing New City. The center will focus on coordinating research resources in the digital economy, electronic information, and intelligent manufacturing in Liangjiang and Wanzhou to improve the innovation capabilities of corporations.
Both the Liangjiang (Wanzhou) Advanced Manufacturing Supporting Industrial Park and Wanzhou (Liangjiang New Area) Green Manufacturing Center are located in the Wanzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. The industrial park has already established sound supply chains with Liangjiang, and the green manufacturing center will help the new area achieve carbon peaking and neutrality.
It has been clarified that Liangjiang New Area and Wanzhou district will synergize their development in 10 specific fields – work mechanism, investment and business promotion, industrial progress, enclave construction, science and technology, tourism brands, port functions, urban-rural interaction, social causes and talent exchange.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
