During the seven-day National Day holiday, an increasing number of people decided to spend the festival at tourist attractions near where they live in order to minimize the cross-regional spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
News from the Liangjiang New Area market regulation bureau suggests that A-level tourist sites in the new area had received a total of 250,000 visits during the holiday, a year-on-year increase of 43 percent.
The government had strictly followed epidemic prevention and control requirements, and implemented measures including limiting the daily tourist number, adopting ticket reservations, and encouraging visitors to avoid rush hours.
