In an effort to lead China in terms of open economy, big data innovation, industrial upgrading, and city quality, Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality is making efforts to improve their overall business environment.
Liangjiang was elected as a special case for business environment improvement in 2020 for its government service reforms. It also is the first State-level new area to pass the national government service standard pilot zone assessment.
In addition, general procedures for starting businesses, launching industrial projects, and making social investments have been further simplified to varying degrees.
Liangjiang also took the initiative to explore cross-regional governance affairs recognition between Chengdu and Chongqing, and launched project construction approval system reforms. The 28 pieces of experience it got from the reform have been applied throughout Chongqing.
Meanwhile, the new area is working hard to improve the "soft power" of its business environment by completing supporting infrastructure and building an international, green, and humane demonstration zone for modern cities.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
