After receiving authorization from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in January this year, Liangjiang has established four kilometers of cooperative vehicle infrastructure system demonstration road, enabling the interaction between roads and automobiles through the internet of vehicles.
Liangjiang has also expanded intelligent research. One air-land robot being developed by the Chongqing Innovation Center of Beijing Institute of Technology is making futuristic movie scenes a reality. Fan Wei, an official of the center, said the robot can be applied in many areas, including post-disaster relief, pipe inspections, and three-dimensional transportation networks.
Within two years of the center settling in Liangjiang, more than 30 technologies have been successfully transferred, and nearly 180 scientific research projects have progressed steadily at the center.
The new area is currently home to 342 R&D platforms above the municipal level, with the number of high-tech firms reaching 506, ranking first in Chongqing.
The Chongqing Liangjiang Coordinative Zone, together with two other innovation platforms – the Liangjiang Digital Economy Industrial Park and Lijia Yuelai Smart Park – will continue to energize Liangjiang with the help of Yufu, Longxing, and Shuitu new cities.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
