The event was attended by Cheng Wendi and Yang Jincai, an official of the new area, and was presided over by Liu Lan, secretary general of the Chongqing Research Institute of Science and Technology.
On behalf of Liangjiang, Yang underlined female talent as a powerful driving force behind scientific innovation. Meng Min, CEO of Chongqing Denali Medpharma Co based in Liangjiang, shared her views on how to better promote scientific careers for female researchers in terms of policy incentives and guarantee plans, stressing the need for authorities to reasonably manage female employees' work during the breastfeeding period.
Zhu Xijia, chief expert at China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co, shared her own experiences in career development and research, and was especially grateful for the support she received when she was working with her research team.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
