Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality sent a delegation to visit Wanzhou district on Jan 25.
A meeting was held on coordination between the new area and the district. Mo Gongming, Party secretary of the district, expressed his gratitude for Liangjiang's generous assistance in many areas over the past year.
Duan Chenggang, secretary of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Party Work Committee, urged the two sides to strengthen cooperation while stabilizing economic fundamentals in the meeting, especially in real economy, digital economy, and culture and tourism. He called for better use of policy incentives and the integration of their development goals into China's and Chongqing's major strategies.
The coordinated achievements were summarized during the meeting. In addition, Liangjiang and Wanzhou signed an agreement to enhance collaborations with Wanzhou in business and investment attraction, industrial park construction, industrial chains, scientific advances, finance, transportation, and rural revitalization.
The enclave industrial park construction will be given due attention to promote industrial prosperity, and information and resources related to business and investment promotion will be shared.
Liangjiang will act proactively to convince more enterprises to establish branches in Wanzhou's healthcare industrial park and recommend specific firms and specialists to offer guidance on the operation of the Wanzhou (Liangjiang) Green and Intelligent Manufacturing Center.
With Liangjiang's help, Wanzhou's two pillar sectors – automobiles and new materials – will be on their way of becoming the 10-billion-yuan ($1.58 billion) businesses.
Research institutes based in the new area are encouraged to establish new innovation platforms and explore multiple cooperation models between Liangjiang and Wanzhou in scientific fields.
Liangjiang's enterprises are expected to participate in the construction and operation of the Wanzhou Three Gorges Cultural and Artistic Center.
As far as urban-rural interaction, social welfare, and talent exchange are concerned, Liangjiang will promote partnerships established among its mass supermarkets and business complexes and Wanzhou's farm produce bases and villages focused on special agriculture.
What's more, Liangjiang will also help Wanzhou build community medical service centers, smart campuses and government service centers. The two sides have also agreed to exchange government cadres, medical workers, and teaching faculty to boost talent teams.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
