There are not many workers in the spacious workshop of SANY's smart equipment industrial park, which is located in the Longxing New City of Liangjiang New Area. Instead, the new generation of workers – a group of intelligent industrial robots – are doing most of the manual work, with mechanical arms performing selection, welding, spraying, and testing jobs.
SANY – a globally leading enterprise in the high-end equipment manufacturing industry – began operating its lighthouse factory – the first of its kind in the Southwest China – on June 30. According to a staff member in charge of the project, the smart factory mainly produces large, medium and small excavators. It takes just 17 minutes for a large excavator to roll off its general assembly line.
The factory is also committed to sustainable development in that all of its oil, water, electricity and gas consumption statistics will be uploaded to the cloud platform, where they are managed and analyzed via big data technology. The process is designed to reduce emissions in a more targeted way.
SANY's lighthouse factory exemplifies Liangjiang's resolution to push its green and low-carbon industrial sectors to a new level.
In July 2021, Chongqing's first hydrogen refueling station was built in Liangjiang, with a refill capacity of 500 kilograms for 50 hydrogen vehicles.
Shanghai Hongyan has coordinated with hydrogen energy enterprises since 2019 to develop hydrogen energy-fueled heavy-duty trucks and has established the world's first mass production base for the truck in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Last year, Liangjiang registered new energy output growth of 56 percent year-on-year, led by major industrial players.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
