A specialized and new enterprise alliance was founded in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality on April 29. Four industrial parks for specialized and new enterprises were also unveiled on the same day.
Luo Lin, director of the new area's administrative committee, attended the unveiling ceremony, highlighting the significant role played by specialized and new small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as driving forces in the regional economy. He said he hopes that the newly-launched industrial parks can create superior innovation platforms and offer a better environment for SMEs to grow and thrive. He also urged the alliance to boost information and resource sharing among member firms.
Li Jie, deputy director of the committee, announced Liangjiang's work plan on the high-quality development of specialized and new enterprises.
The four industrial parks focus on new energy, intelligent connected vehicles, high-end equipment, digital economy, biomedicine and other fields.
Liangjiang also coordinated with local securities companies, banks and law firms to initiate a special financial service campaign for specialized and new enterprises, in an effort to build a supporting eco-system in capital management, credit-based loan services, and other areas.
The new area is home to 119 specialized and new enterprises, with 15 classed as national little giants. By 2025, the new area will seek to cultivate 3,000 innovation-based SMEs, 500 specialized and new enterprises at the municipal level, and 50 national little giant companies.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
