Chen Feng'e, head of the China division of the International Enterprise Singapore, visited Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, on Sept 8 to discuss possible areas of future cooperation.
In recent years, Liangjiang has been deepening the core area construction of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity and has signed agreements on 44 related projects, with the contract turnover reaching $10.98 billion, accounting for 44 percent of Chongqing's total, according to the new area's free trade office.
A number of important projects were established in Liangjiang, including the China-Singapore multimodal transport program, injecting new vitality into the local economy.
Moving forward, Liangjiang will give a full play to the opportunities brought about by the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership initiative and further expand collaboration with Singapore so as to integrate into the dual circulation paradigm as soon as possible.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
