Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs) are special operators recognized by the World Customs Organization that usually have higher credibility and security levels.
AEOs enjoy a series of benefits when it comes to exports and imports, including priority customs clearance treatment, more efficient shipments, strengthened security and improved risk mitigation.
There are in total 79 AEOs in Chongqing, 41 of whom are based in Liangjiang New Area, ranking it first in the municipality.
The new area is currently working with Chongqing customs to launch an AEO credit management system, and has assisted many local companies in becoming AEOs. Chongqing BOE Display Technology Co is one example of them. Committed to producing medium- and small-scale flexible display panels, the company received the AEO certificate in 38 days.
Statistics show that over the first seven months of this year, about 18.07 million display panels made in Chongqing and worth 2.52 billion yuan ($353.56 million), were exported to 49 countries and regions.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
