Beijing Institute of Technology Chongqing Innovation Center, located in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, was recently recognized as China's first functional unmanned vehicle standard innovation center.

Based on knowledge gained in R&D, its experience in training personnel and its standard innovation in the field of functional unmanned vehicles, the center is seen as being a major driver of the unmanned vehicles sector in the country.

It's expected to achieve standardized strategy and technological innovation, and help Chongqing ramp up its unmanned vehicles business.

The first group of functional unmanned vehicle standards put out by the center was approved by the China Society of Automotive Engineers in May this year.

In addition, the first batch of the functional unmanned vehicle industry standards test was unveiled, with five production models having passed, including the Dongfeng Sharing-VAN, Meituan's new-generation autonomous delivery car and JD's 5.0 version of its autonomous delivery vehicle.
