Researchers from research institutions of Liangjiang New Area gathered in the Liangjiang Coordinative Innovation Zone on Oct 16 to watch the TV report on the 20th National Congress.
There, they expressed their deep interest in the proceedings which they said had left a big impact on them.
"I am deeply inspired by the congress's report as a scientific worker and I also feel the responsibility on my shoulders," said Zhang Hanjie, executive president of the Green Aerotechnics Research Institute of Chongqing Jiaotong University.
Han Kai, director of the Chongqing Innovation Center of the Beijing Institute of Technology, recalled that since the center was established, it had carried out the nation's talent cultivation and scientific innovation strategies, and had formed a high-level team of scientific researchers over the past three years.
At the same time, leapfrog development can also be seen in the Liangjiang Coordinative Innovation Zone, which has been established in the wake of the call to achieve innovation-driven development through big data and intelligentization.
A new "government + leading enterprises + colleges" coordinated approach has been applied, transporting knowledge from laboratories to workshops. Now the zone boasts nearly 700,000 square meters of developed areas, with many support facilities and a great deal of infrastructure constructed.
To date, the zone has brought in 50 universities and research institutions, set up more than 110 sci-tech research platforms, formed 24 research teams led by academicians and attracted over 2,200 high-end R&D personnel.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
