Statistics show that more than 6,000 German enterprises are operating in China, greatly benefiting consumers from both countries.
China has become the world's largest car consumption market, which explains why more and more German companies have decided to set up or expand operations in China.
Continental AG, a Fortune 500 company which has operations in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, came to China in 1994, and has achieved a series of long-term development in business layout and R&D. Now the firm has 25 manufacturing bases and 28 research centers in China, and has hired about 16,500 workers.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
