Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality is synergizing pandemic containment and social development, reporting 20.6 billion yuan ($2.93 billion) in key project investment over the first 11 months of this year.
The Liangjiang Branch of the Chongqing Jiangbei District People's Hospital, for example, is a major municipal project based in the new area. The new branch will be constructed into a secondary class-A hospital offering 470 hospital beds. It will serve the medical needs of residents from Yufu and Longxing new cities. About 40 percent of construction has already been completed.
Work on 13 ongoing projects has been resumed as well.
The main structure on the Longsheng Railway Station Plaza located in Longxing New City, another key municipal project, has been completed, and workers have been assigned to conduct other supporting work, including water and power supply, fire control and vegetation growing and maintenance.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
