The international talent community in Shuitu New City of Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality began construction recently.
The community is located in the core living area of the new city near the Liangjiang New Area's key industrial clusters and boasts convenient transportation and other supporting infrastructure.
The project carries a price tag of 1.26 billion yuan ($180.68 million) and will include 15 apartment buildings that are expected to have a greening rate exceeding 30 percent and house more than 1,000 talents.
The construction of the community is divided into two phases, with the first to be completed before 2024.
In recent years, Liangjiang has been focusing on the talent housing program, and has established about 5,000 talent apartments in Shuitu New City.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
