The award ceremony for the 2021 Top 10 Chongqing Economic Figures campaign and the 2021 Top 10 Liangjiang New Area Economic Figures campaign was held in Liangjiang Coordinative Innovation Zone in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality on Jan 11.

In addition to the outstanding individuals contributing to the city's economy, the ceremony also released Chongqing's innovative cases in economic reform and Chengdu-Chongqing coordinated development.

A total of 30 outstanding talents at the forefront of Chongqing's economic development and 16 innovative cases won awards.

Five entrepreneurs in Liangjiang were selected among the top 10 Chongqing economic figures for 2021, with three winning the title of top 10 Chongqing innovative economic figures, while two cases made the list of Chongqing innovative cases in economic reform.

This is the 14th time the campaign has been carried out in Chongqing, and is a reflection of the municipality's rapid growth, encouraging entrepreneurs to make greater contributions to society. Individuals selected have all played a major role in Chongqing's rapid development.

The 30 individuals selected this year are engaged in automobiles, electronic information, biomedicine and other industries in Chongqing. Some are from strategic emerging businesses, such as new materials, semi-conductors, and photoelectric sensing equipment.

Wang Jun, president of China Chang'an Automobile Group Co, has been promoting the large-scale production of the firm's new energy vehicles (NEVs). Data show that over the last year, Changan sold 2.35 million cars, and in December alone, Changan's independent NEV brands registered 45,200 sales, a year-on-year increase of 202.21 percent.

Among enterprises which have won the award, one generated over 100 billion yuan ($14.65 billion) in sales revenue in 2021, while four saw over 10 billion yuan in sales revenue.

Liangjiang's cross-border technology-based loan business and foreign-related commercial litigation and one-stop arbitration and mediation dispute-solving mechanism were included in the list of 2021 Chongqing innovative cases in economic reforms. [Photo provided to engish.liangjiang.gov.cn]
