On Feb 14, Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality reported 553 newly-registered software and information service trade operators in 2022, bringing the total number to nearly 3,800. Meanwhile, Liangjiang's software and information service business scale has exceeded 100 billion yuan ($14.67 billion), accounting for one third of Chongqing's total.
Last September, the new area initiated a special campaign to strengthen its software and information service industrial chain by building a group of key and characteristic industrial parks and talent communities for the trade.
Meanwhile, investment and business promotion efforts have been made, especially in industrial software, automotive software, emerging platform software, industrial application software and digital content.
In 2022, Liangjiang unveiled 10 district-level characteristic software and information service trade industrial parks, established two demonstration office buildings, and added 171,000 square meters of new usable office building areas.
In addition, Liangjiang encouraged new technological products and services to be first applied in local smart manufacturing and smart city scenarios, and organized three software and information service open application scenario launch events, releasing 80 software application scenarios, and promoted the signing of agreements worth over 200 million yuan.
The new area reported four new specialized and new little giant companies last year, and has collectively cultivated 75 specialized and new enterprises.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
