The first park-style marriage registration office in Liangjiang New Area, in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, will be open to the public on March 31, local media reported.
Officials from the social security bureau of Liangjiang New Area said that the new marriage registration office will start trial operation on March 31.
The new office is located next to a hotel on Lijia Street in Liangjiang New Area. Couples who come to register their marriage can go on take photos under the Ferris wheel named the "Chongqing Eye" in Happy Valley, the nearby amusement park. Being able to record happy and exciting moments directly after a couple gets legally married is a huge advantage to the office.
Covering a floor area of around 800 square meters, the office building is heart-shaped, symbolizing eternal love. The color of the exterior facade of the building is mainly red and white, indicating the red flame and purity of love.
Dan Tangwen, director of the social security bureau of Liangjiang New Area, said that his bureau will strive to provide the best marriage registration services to local people by creating influential and unique scenarios.
The new marriage registration office has several functional areas, including offices for consultation services, marriage registration windows, and wedding traditions and wedding culture exhibition halls. It provides services such as marriage registration, certification services, and marriage and family affairs consultation.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
