Jiangbei district - one of the key districts of the great southwestern city of Chongqing - is located near the Yangtze River and Jialing River and also near other districts such as Banan, Yuzhong and Yubei. Its highest altitude is 679 meters and the lowest, 152 meters. It covers an area of 220.77 square kilometers and has a population of 870,000 out of a city of more than 30 million.

In 2020, Jiangbei's GDP was estimated at 132.5 billion yuan ($20.37 billion), increased by 3.9 percent year-on-year.
