A special work session was held in Beijing on March 14, and was attended by senior government leaders from the Chongqing government and State Council.
The session was organized to discuss how the central government can better help Chongqing to integrate into the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
Representatives of State-owned enterprises, including China South Industries Group Co, State Grid Co, and China Satellite Network Group Co, delivered key-note speeches on their potential business development plans in Chongqing.
The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) signed a strategic cooperation framework contract with the Chongqing government in regards to the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. It has agreed to collaborate with Chongqing across 14 key fields in seven aspects, including rural vitalization, modern energy systems, and modern industrial systems.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
