China Media Group Co, on April 3, issued the 2022 city business environment innovation report. Boasting excellent performances in supervision mechanism innovation and market system reforms, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality was selected as one of China's most innovative cities for its business environment.
The report was formed to evaluate municipalities, capitals of provinces and autonomous regions, and cities specifically designated in the State plan, as well as cities that have a GDP exceeding 1 trillion yuan ($145.5 billion).
Last year, Chongqing took the initiative to lift regional development barriers, and prompted the use of business licenses in the branches of main business operators. Additionally, about 311 of the city's most frequent government services are recognized both in Sichuan and Chongqing now.
Efforts have also been made to simplify and further optimize government investment project examination and approval procedures. They will also continue to carry out cross-border trade reforms, and raise its overall logistics efficiency by 40 percent.
Of note, an international trade window for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor was also established, and the data sharing between the railway system and customs has been strengthened.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
