The First Western International Carbon Neutralization Technology Expo & Entrepreneur Summit Forum took place at the Yuelai International Expo Center, which is located in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, on April 12.
The expo featured exhibitions, high-end forums, trade dialogues and business promotion activities. All of which focused on low-carbon living, energy saving, carbon reduction, environmental protection, and energy structure transformation.
The expo had five major themed display areas, which included green city development, energy saving and low-carbon products, energy structure transformation, low-carbon transportation, and low-carbon services.
The energy saving and low-carbon products display area demonstrated practical cases that involved frontier technologies in energy saving management, green construction, and carbon sinking and sequestration. Additionally, the green city development display area showcased the green transformation of industrial parks.
The event also witnessed the signing of 10 project agreements in carbon and pollution reduction.
Chongqing has been enhancing the top-down design of its dual carbon goals, and has completed its "1+2+6+N" policy system. It has also formulated many supportive guarantees for its carbon peaking action plans involving energy, industry, transportation and three other areas.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
