The 8th National Energy Storage Engineering Conference was held on April 15, in the Longsheng New City, Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
Pan Fusheng, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the president of the Chongqing new energy storage material and equipment research institute; Guo Zhengxiao, an academician from the Academia Europaea and a professor from the University of Hong Kong; Wang Yu, deputy director of the new area's administrative committee; and Xu Zhipeng, deputy head of the Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau, were present at the meeting.
Focusing on efficient transitions, green energy storage, and cyclic development, the conference was an exchange platform for technologies involved in advanced energy storage materials, devices and systems.
In his speech, Pan Fusheng cited the importance of safe and reliable energy storage technologies and equipment. He stated that they were crucial in achieving dual carbon goals and energy structure transformation.
The Chongqing new energy storage material and equipment research institute, jointly founded by the Chongqing University and Liangjiang New Area, is considered as an important facility that will strengthen China's independent innovation capabilities in core energy storage technology research.
At the event, Wang Yu invited more leading enterprises and gifted personnel to invest in or work in Liangjiang.
This year, Chongqing has identified the "2+6+X" advanced manufacturing industrial system, and its new energy and new energy storage industrial clusters are among the municipality's six priority industrial clusters.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
