Taizhou No 1 Scenic Highway launched a global solicitation for its slogan and logo, with a maximum cash prize of 50,000 yuan ($7,280).

The highway stretches about 270 kilometers along the western Pacific off the southeast coast of Zhejiang Province. Starting from Shepan Island and ending at Haishan Island, the highway passes through an area with many tourist attractions.

The slogan should reflect its image as "the most beautiful scenic highway on the West Pacific Coast", consist of no more than 16 characters and include an explanation of no more than 300 characters. The logo should highlight Taizhou as a city of mountains and seas and the highway as a coastal route.

For the slogan proposals, the review committee will award 10 finalists with 2,000 yuan in cash each. For the logo proposal, the committee will award a first-place-prize winner with 50,000 yuan in cash, three second-place-prize winners with 10,000 yuan in cash, and six third-place-prize winners with 2,000 yuan in cash.

Proposals should be submitted to xuting@tylin.com.cn along with an application form. Submissions are due by the end of April 25.

The highway is designed by T. Y. Lin International Engineering Consulting (China) Co Ltd, a global engineering firm with its China headquarters in Liangjiang New Area.
