The glass made by Aureavia Hi-tech Glass (ATG), a company in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality that specializes in building customized glass materials, was rated as the first five-star unbreakable glass in the world, local media reported.
The company has succeeded in independently developing high-strength and scratch-resistant micro-crystalline glass, making it the first firm in the world to be certified as having five-star unbreakable glass. It is also one of the highest-strength electronic glasses in the world. The average visible light transmission rate of this micro-crystalline glass has met the market standard, which makes it a strong substitute for imported glass.
The high aluminum silicon special glass, lithium aluminum silicon special glass, and transparent nano-microcrystalline glass produced by the company have not only been successfully applied to domestic high-end flagship mobile phone screens, but also widely used in fields such as aviation, high-speed rail, and new energy vehicles.
The company is building new production lines to meet market demand.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
