The Yuelai International Convention and Exhibition City, located in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, serves as a pivotal platform for development and openness. It is one of the city's most important regions due to its strategic location and excellent transportation infrastructure encompassing water, land, and air connectivity. Moreover, it is among the first pilot areas for national green ecological demonstration cities and sponge cities. The city's international convention and exhibition facilities have created a strong atmosphere of openness and it has established itself as the largest international exhibition platform in western China.
The Chongqing International Expo Center and Chongqing Yuelai International Conference Center, located within the Yuelai International Convention and Exhibition City, are the primary drivers of Chongqing's exhibition industry. These multipurpose complexes feature exhibition spaces, conference venues, dining establishments, accommodation options, performance arenas, and sports facilities. To date, the Yuelai International Convention and Exhibition City has successfully hosted a total of 2,700 domestic and international exhibition events, covering an exhibition area of more than 14 million square meters. These events have attracted 23 million visitors from around the world, contributing to hundreds of billions of yuan in urban consumption.

Notably, the Chongqing International Expo Center has been recognized as one of the world's top 12 recipients of the UFI Digital Innovation Award. Additionally, it ranks among the top three for the UFI Operations and Services Award. Being the only venue in Asia to receive UFI awards two years in a row, it stands at the forefront of intelligent services on a global scale.
In line with its vision to become the core hub of the Design City, the Yuelai International Convention and Exhibition City is expediting the construction of the Chongqing Design Park. This initiative has attracted renowned companies, and the park is expected to be completed and operational by 2025, with anticipated revenue of 10 billion yuan ($1.3 billion).

Furthermore, the Yuelai International Exhibition City is driving innovation in the cultural and tourism industry through the operation of the Yuelai Art Museum IP. The focus is on core business areas such as cultural and tourism operations, art exhibitions, bonded art, digital art operations, cultural and tourism investments, cultural and tourism project development, commercial operation management services, cultural and artistic exchanges, and public cultural activities. The aim is to establish a high-quality exhibition city with an international and humanistic cultural emphasis. The Yuelai Center, a key municipal project within the complex, is an ecological hub integrating exhibition-related industries, star-rated hotels, Class 5A office buildings, and premium commercial facilities. It is known as an "office building in the art museum."
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
