Over the past few years, Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality has experienced a significant surge in its commercial sector. In the first half of this year alone, the new area successfully hosted more than 200 exhibitions and various events, drawing nearly a million enthusiastic consumers. Notably, key business complexes witnessed remarkable growth, with sales and customer footfall soaring by over 20 percent when compared to the same period last year.
In the initial half of this year, Liangjiang achieved impressive total retail sales of consumer goods, reaching 42.07 billion yuan ($5.89 billion), indicating a remarkable 14.5-percent increase compared to the previous year. This growth surpassed the national average by 6.3 percentage points and outpaced Chongqing's average by an impressive 8.3 percentage points.
In addition, the new area also organized more than 60 consumer activities, with over 10 city-level flagship stores opening their doors. So far, it has successfully introduced 750 internationally renowned brands and more than 2,800 well-known domestic brands, with over 240 of them setting up their first flagship stores in Liangjiang.
Furthermore, the new area made substantial efforts in organizing over 60 consumer activities, while also welcoming the opening of more than 10 city-level flagship stores. A notable achievement includes the successful introduction of 750 internationally renowned brands and over 2,800 well-known domestic brands. An impressive 240 of these brands have chosen Liangjiang as the location for their inaugural flagship stores. This demonstrates the area's attractiveness as a thriving destination for both national and international brands.
