The Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone (CBZ) of Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, signed a strategic collaboration contract with Chongqing Dazu High-tech Industrial Development Group Co on Oct 8, agreeing to set up the Dazu station at the Chengdu-Chongqing Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Cross-Border Trading Center.
The two sides will establish an information sharing mechanism and deepen exchanges and cooperation in exports and imports, logistics, and industrial park comprehensive services.
The trade center, located in the CBZ, is a Chongqing-manufactured product export base, a cross-border e-commerce industrial park, and a cross-border trading platform software park, providing services related to customs, supply chains, logistics, human resources, finance, taxes, laws and regulations.
A number of high-quality enterprises have moved into the center, including cross-border e-commerce platforms, sellers, talent cultivation agencies, cross-border settlement institutions, consolatory firms, and investors.
According to a staff member at the center, efforts will be made to set up one cross-border trade digital comprehensive platform, bring in 10 representative enterprises on industrial chains, help Chengdu and Chongqing achieve 10 billion yuan ($1.39 billion) in foreign trade, and exhibit 1,000 types of local products in the next year.
Dazu district has been advancing its e-commerce business in its traditional hardware industry and has been approved as a national e-commerce demonstration base.
The center is expected to provide physical product exhibition services for Dazu's hardware sector and increase the added value of local products.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
