The Republic of Tatarstan plans to cooperate with Russian Aviation and Liangjiang New Area to research and develop helicopters and other small planes, said Ravil Kh. Zaripov, vice-premier of the Republic of Tatarstan and minister of Industry and Trade in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Ravil Kh. Zaripov said the Kazan Helicopter Plant (KHP) in Tatarstan had high-tech technology for its research, development, and production. KHP will cooperate with China to promote its products in China's market and organize establishing a service center and training pilots. The vice-premier hoped China and Tatarstan could jointly produce and sell small planes with the assistance of Tatarstan companies. Liangjiang New Area is one of its partners producing small planes and he believes that great achievements could be made by companies form both sides cooperating.
Meanwhile, the Republic of Tatarstan has established special economic zones and high-tech parks. Presently, 11 industrial parks plan to attract investment from China. Zaripov hopes Tatarstan and China can exchange economic experts for further studies and exchange experiences in establishing economic and development zones. The Republic of Tatarstan will also study and promote China's experience of establishing small and medium-sized enterprise industrial parks, said Zaripov.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
